QUALITY CIRCLE MEETING ON 7 March 2013
A brief report
The meeting of the quality circle was held on March 7 at 2.30 pm. The meeting was attended by the Principal, IQAC members, HODs and student representatives from various departments.
The IQAC coordinator Dr. Muralikrishnan T.R.welcomed the gathering. The Principal Dr. Biju.A in his presidential address stressed the need to interact effectively for making the institution qualitatively superior.
Out of the 50 students attended more than 22 students raised various issues. They include;
1. Availability of drinking water
2. Poor maintenance of water cooler
3. Hygienic condition in toilets
4. Issues related to college buses
5. Health check up facility
6. Electronics lab facility for BSc Physics and MSc Electronics
7. Language lab and internet facility
8. Information from office staff on enquiry
9. Audibility of announcement system
10. Poor condition of benches in certain classes
11. Canteen food
12. Outside influence pertaining with cigarette smoking/pan etc
13. Books in the library on special subjects such as Nano technology
14. Power failure and fans in certain classroom
15. Need for more career development programmes
16. Need to activate certain clubs
17. Representation in MG University arts festival
18. Complaint box/suggestion box
19. Curtain in the sides of the Mosque
20. Journal arrangement in library
21. Need for a men's hostel
22. Bikes are given to students on hiring basis indiscriminately
The Principal responded to these issues and it was generally agreed to take up these suggestions for further discussion and possible implementation
